About Me

I have always loved stories – reading them, telling them, dreaming about them. This place is just that…a place for stories about my family and my friends and the place we call home. Occasionally a recipe will show up, but most of time there will just be words about life.

My life, so please be kind.

Much of my world centers around our garden. It’s not just about the food that is eaten at its long table…it’s also about the stories that come to life when people gather for a dinner party.

As for me…I am Michele. I’m best known as Michael’s wife and Matthew, Alex and Brian’s mom. They are all three grown up now and living lives in many different places (China! Colorado!) but thankfully still remember that their Dad and I are their home.

We aren’t against reminding them of that.😎

I realize that there is so much more to me than all of this…but one of the most important things about me is that I’ve always felt called to my home. To take care of my people…and the best way I know to do that is to feed them well.

So please, knock on the door and come in for dinner.

“that house…was a perfect house, whether you like food, or sleep, or story-telling or singing, or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all. Merely to be there was a cure for weariness, fear, and sadness.”

  1. This is a beautiful, new thing you are doing, Michele – new to me, as I just found it tonight. (great antidote for insomnia: your stories & photos)…I’d love to take your offer to “pull up another chair” at your table while Bob’s still in Singapore (until Christmas). Greenbough Gang, as Ruth used to call the familes we knew there, is still our favorite neighborhood. (especially with family living in #9 again)

    1. I’m glad you found this – you are welcome anytime!
